Engaging Music and Literature Tutor

Greetings! I am a professional operatic baritone and published author, with over fifteen years in both fields combined. I have taught voice and basic piano in Los Angeles, for over two years, with students ranging from ages 8 to 29; and 2014 saw me work successfully with my first real writing student. Teaching is one of my absolute joys, and my goal in joining this website is twofold: to get in touch with potential new students, and to expand and refine my work as a writing teacher/tutor. ... Literature

Since 2009, I have worked a professional editor, proofreader and book designer, associated primarily with the publisher Amok Books. Additionally, I am a published author. My book, a fictionalized study of the No Child Left Behind program, has enjoyed high praise. Literature has always been life's greatest passion--since the publication of Boy on Fire, I have completed two other novels, one currently in revision and one completed two months ago. Since childhood, I have devoted a great deal of time to the study of literature, and recently, I have taken on private students with whom I share this passion. English and literature, I find, lend themselves very well to the tutoring environment, somehow encouraging students' personal growth beyond their own expectations. It is a joy for me use the fields to help guide individual students through their own challenges, and to explore with the students the power of language and communication.
