In less than 3 years of study, I graduated with honors from UC Berkeley in 2012 and was inducted into Psi Chi, The International Psychology Honors Society, in the same year. My coursework focused mainly on Psychology and the Pre-Medical Sciences and Mathematics. My favorite classes were Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Statistics, though I'm also excellent in Calculus. Over the past 5 years, I have been working as a one-on-one tutor throughout the South Bay, both privately and with several to... [more]

Algebra 1

I started out my tutoring career with algebra and have helped students in all levels. I now specialize in online tutoring and make algebra lessons run smoothly and very efficiently. I help students learn to complete each step carefully and make sure it is logical before moving on to the next. By teaching students to attack difficult problems using lots of easy baby steps, they quickly gain the confidence to approach any problems on their own.

Algebra 2

I started out my tutoring career with algebra 2 and have helped students in all levels.

American History

Biology

Familiar with tutoring for the AP Biology exam, the SAT Biology Subject Test, honors biology, university biology, and biology lab classes.

Calculus

I find teaching Calculus to be very rewarding. After reviewing the general theorems, I help students learn to complete each step carefully and make sure it is logical before moving on to the next. By teaching students to attack difficult problems by using lots of easy baby steps, they quickly gain the confidence to approach any problems on their own.

Chemistry

After taking 2 semesters of general chemistry, 2 semesters of organic chemistry, and 2 semesters of biochemistry, chemistry became my favorite subject. Spending time in the lab performing experiments and reactions helped me grow a fascination for chemistry principles. In addition to helping students thoroughly understand the material, I give insight and fun facts that help create a genuine interest in chemistry.

Geometry

Over the past 6 years, I have helped hundreds of students master even the most difficult aspects of geometry, such as proofs and theorems. By helping students organize the information carefully on paper, I make sure students learn the thought process behind using the relevant formulas and can carry out the calculations successfully.

Physics

I received an A+ in University Physics at UC Berkeley

Microsoft PowerPoint

Prealgebra

With over 6 years of professional Prealgebra tutoring experience, I have learned how to help students break down difficult problems into many small and easy steps. After a bit of practice, students gain the correct thought process to analyze the problems carefully and, just as importantly, carry out the calculations correctly.

Precalculus

I find teaching Precalculus to be very rewarding. After reviewing the general theorems, I help students learn to complete each step carefully and make sure it is logical before moving on to the next. By teaching students to attack difficult problems by using lots of easy baby steps, they quickly gain the confidence to approach any problems on their own.

Reading

Trigonometry

With over 6 years of experience tutoring trigonometry, I have helped countless students master the trig identities, formulas, calculations, and, most importantly, the unit circle. With a solid understanding of a few basic concepts, students learn to think critically for themselves and use what they know to solve even the most difficult trig problems.

Writing

Statistics

I received an A+ in UC Berkeley Upper Level Statistics Course. I am very familiar with performing the calculations by hand, with a statistical calculator, and with a statistical computer program. I am also excellent at helping students analyze and interpret the results of their statistical tests.

Organic Chemistry

I completed 2 semesters worth of Organic Chemistry in UC Berkeley, and got a B in both semesters. Since graduating, I have tutored Organic Chemistry to several different students. However, one particular student I helped weekly throughout a whole semester, which greatly helped me refresh my knowledge and understanding in the class. Though I may not have all the answers on the top of my head, I am excellent at asking the right questions and working together with students to get the correct answer.

R

In my university statistics courses, I used R extensively to analyze data sets. I am familiar with all of the statistical tests and analyses, and can help identify the situations in which each test is needed. Whether starting with a large data set or a summary of the data, I can help make testing for statistical significance quick and simple.
