I have been a Certified Association Executive since 1994. Every 4 years, I am required to renew my certification proving that I have continued my education, skills and experience in the fields that are covered by the CAE: Business Operations, Finance, Fundraising & Non-dues Revenue, Governance, Government Relations, Human Resources, Leadership, Legal, Marketing & Communications, Meetings & Events, Membership, Professional Development, Research Methodologies and Technology. In addition, I graduated from the five year program at the Institute for Organizational Management which expanded the studies to include Strategic Planning, Meeting Facilitation, Advanced Meeting Planning, Grant Writing and more. I am a Business Development Specialist for SC Vocational Rehabilitation (2012 ? present) where I demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of sales strategies and techniques, present, probe and persuade and verbally articulate service line and product features and benefits identify and respond appropriately to primary client/customer needs (service orientation). During my seven years in chamber of commerce work with the Walterboro Chamber of Commerce and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce in SC, I managed the financial responsibilities, served as on the board of the Colleton County Economic Alliance. I coordinated worked with corporate attorneys, our insurance agents, human resources requirements, payroll, and used QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Pro programs and PowerPoint. I also managed personnel evaluations and building management. As Executive Director for the American Society of Professional Estimators in Nashville TN from 2009 - 2011, I was responsible for revitalizing marketing and sponsorship initiatives, membership development planning and implementation, the introduction of new products and services, volunteer leadership development, membership services, education and program development, and membership growth initiatives, authoring articles for the newsletter and representing the organization at state, regional, and national meetings, events and trade shows. As an account executive for Association Resources in West Hartford, CT (2003-2009), I served as the executive director for multiple national, regional and local associations. I lead the board of directors and association committees in stabilization of financial standing, introduction of new products and services and the redesign and implementation of a new website. I also lead major initiatives included board development, strategic planning and management, educational programming and webinars, marketing and branding. As Executive Director for the Home Builders Association of Hartford County, CT (2002-2003) I stream-lined association operations and enhanced financial management, managed volunteer leadership development, membership services, education and program development; and I was responsible for membership growth, events coordination, sponsorship recruitment and co-management of the Original Connecticut Home Show. I also authored articles for the newsletter and represented the organization at state, regional, and national meetings. For the Georgia Bankers Association in Atlanta, GA (1983 0 1993), I was Statewide Training and Development Manager responsible for all phases of association operation reporting to the Executive Director. I planned coordinated, monitored and marketed seminars and conferences for senior-level bankers. I also worked with senior-level and executive-level committees to meet established educational and financial goals of 4,000 attendees and a budget of $1,300,000. I developed and implemented seminar brochures, managed curriculum development with national and international industry consultants. I served a dual position as Associate Director with direct control and responsibility for budget and finance, marketing, operations, computer hardware and software, program design and development, seminar development, newsletter development and implementation, and board member activities/interaction. From 1978 to 1983, I worked as a Treasury Management Officer (AVP) for the C & S National Bank in Atlanta, GA where I managed the Feasibility Study Area, served as corporate account calling officer for the cash management services of the bank. I developed a calling program for entire Georgia region, called on treasurers of corporations to provide bank services (to accelerate income and slow expenses through cash flow techniques and specialty accounts, and account placement). From 1973 to 1978, I worked for NCNB Charlotte, NC as Marketing Coordinator where I was a research and development specialist for new products and services. I developed products and trained bank personnel on the sales and operation of the new products.
