Patient and Knowledgeable Systems Engineer/ HS Teacher

Currently teaching 3 sections at the High School (AP Comp SCI) and 3 sections at the jr High ( introduction to computer Science) My tutoring provides an interactive, hands-on experience for the kids to create awareness, excitement and understanding of technology, science and mathematics. I primarily teach Scratch and Java. As I'm teaching introductory coding concepts, I also structure all the lessons around games so that it's a fun interactive experience. I believe that the more engagement t... [more]

Vocabulary

Microsoft Excel

I've been using Microsoft Office for over 20 years. I have Office 2016.

General Computer

Microsoft Word

Java

I have been teaching Java for the last year, remotely. We can talk and share screens over the internet, like we're in the same room.

Elementary Math

C++

I have been programming for over 26 years in C, then C++ for embedded systems and storage systems. I have taught 50 high schoolers how to code in C++.

C

I have a 16 week curriculum teaching HS kids who know a little JavaScript and taught them how to code C for a cube sat; how to interface to the ttys0; how to parse data; what data types are such as int, long, doubles; how to construct for loops, check for fencepost errors; and create return codes. I am a systems engineer. I live and breath c code. I have been coding over 26 years in embedded systems. I use perl, and python and C as our tools as well as solder and interface boards. While my stuff isn't listed on any github, because a) its all proprietary and b) its low level bit banging, not upper level JavaScript pretty web GUIs. Plus, I deal with the real nitty gritty and have been for a good long while and I'm good at it.

Computer Programming

I am a systems engineer, with 26 years of experience coding low level (assembly) debugging prototype hardware and higher level C , Perl and Java coding for server architectures. I have been teaching coding for 2 years now privately. I have taught over 187 kids this year alone.

Computer Science

I have taught over 800 kids how to code this year in after school programs, from 4th-10th grade. I have taught javascript, arudino and java and C++.

Microsoft Windows

I am a systems engineer. I have worked on windows systems since 1987. I have built machines from scratch. I am not a fan of win10, though.

Electrical Engineering

I have obtained a BSEE 20 years ago. I have been a practicing engineer for over 26 years. I am both a technical and non-technical person. I have 26 years of real world experience. I have taught more than 600 kids this year alone.

Computer Engineering

I am a systems engineer. I integrate computer systems together, whether it be linux, windows, or macs. I develop software and configurations to make disparate components work together. I can teach others how to do the same as I have to write up my process for others on my team when I find issues with the "documentation" whether its Microsoft produced or otherwise. As I actually test what I write, as I am an engineer, not a tech writer.
