Hello! For the past several years I have been in the educational interpreting field. Through the years I have had the pleasure of working with an array of different age groups and signing styles. After majoring in Deaf Studies and taking the ITP ( interpreter training program) at Golden West College, I went on to work at Cypress College. There I interpreted for many classes including: Human Sexuality, Cooking, English, Math Theory, Social Skills, Independent living Skills, Microsoft Word, Computer Skills, and Community Resources, watercolor, oil painting and drawing. Along with working for Cypress College I also was the host of a deaf event in Huntington Beach. It was a very successful event where I met many different people deaf, hearing, HH, and deaf blind. Sadly, I had to give up the event when I relocated to Mammoth Lakes, CA. While in Mammoth, I worked for Bishop Elementary School. There I taught a young boy how to sign and communicate effectively while also acting as his one on one interpreter throughout the day. I would sometimes interpret for the High School when a sub was needed. Recently, I have once again become a SoCal resident. Currently I work for an elementary school in Buena Park. This school has a great DHH program and allows me to have many fun opportunities. I am a staffed interpreter. I interpret for history, math, science, english, speech, IEP meeting, assemblies, talent shows, field trips science camp and much more! I also teach weekly ASL lessons to all of the hearing classrooms k-6! So much fun! Interpreting is my passion. I fell in love with the language and culture and enjoy sharing my passion with others who are enthusiastic and eager to learn!
