Learning Specialist and Study Skills Tutor

As a lifelong learner, I am committed to providing my students with the best practices in the areas of subject-specific tutoring, supplemental instruction and learning strategies/study skills. Study Skills

I worked as a learning specialist at two major universities and my work included one on one study skills instruction for my assigned students. I also graduated from the N4A Learning Specialist Institute and have served as a faculty member since 2011. I taught a college freshmen learning/study skills course at San Diego State and also at the University of Missouri.


Special Needs

I worked as a learning specialist at two major universities and my work included one on one study skills instruction for students with documented learning needs including ADHD. I am knowledgeable with accommodations, IEPS and 504 plans. I am familiar with laws pertaining to students with learning needs including ADHD. I also graduated from the N4A Learning Specialist Institute and have served as a faculty member since 2011. I taught a college freshmen learning/study skills course at San Diego State and also at the University of Missouri.


Career Development

I currently work in the area of career development. I am member of the National Association of Academic Advisor for Athletics were I receive career development and I am certified in administering the Strong Interest Inventory for career development. For my current full-time job I review LinkedIn profiles, resumes, cover letter, do mock interviews, and assist in job searching.

Social Studies

I majored in Social Science education at San Diego State University and have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science and received my California teaching single subject credential in Social Studies. I taught 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students in the following social studies subjects: US History, World History, US Geography and Economics. Additionally, I have tutored college students in the following social studies subjects: sociology, psychology, political science and history.
