Ear Training

As a piano performance major, I took 4 music theory classes, each of which had an ear training component. My musical education (I started in 1994) also includes the Yamaha School of Music method which uses solfege and fixed "do" in its courses.

Career Development

I have been a life and job coach for more than 3 years. I enjoy working with people on recognizing their strengths, focusing on their interests, and identifying the next steps needed to advance their career or educational goals. My coach training is through the Coaches Training Institute, an ICF-accredited training program (ICF = International Coach Federation). I used to be an editor for a local newspaper and am also happy to review and edit r?sum?s, cover letters, and personal statements.

College Counseling

I have worked with numerous high school and college students in preparing applications and personal statements. In addition to editing the student's r?sum? and personal statement, I help applicants understand what criteria are most important to them when browsing schools. I also enjoy working with applicants to customize their "brand" and the message that the application communicates.

Adobe InDesign

I have had more than 10 years of experience using multiple versions of Adobe InDesign. Primarily, I used Adobe InDesign for layout and graphic design in laying out newspapers, magazines, and articles. I am happy to submit examples of my previous work upon request.


I have owned and used a Macintosh for more than 10 years. I am familiar with navigating this different operating system and customizing settings. My current MacbookPro is a dual boot (therefore it runs both Mac and PC). This allows me to be familiar with the latest Windows settings and features, and be able to work seamlessly between both platforms.

Microsoft Access

I have worked with Access in a variety of projects. I setup a database for the local police department, and also managed a volunteer database of civilians who were donating time to the police department. I have created back-end tables as well as front-end forms and reports. I am happy to submit a sample upon request.

Microsoft Windows

I have been using Microsoft Windows for almost 20 years for personal, educational and professional settings. I am familiar with the operating system and use it on a regular basis for work.

Graphic Design

My background in graphic design started with designing and laying out pages for newspapers and magazines at my university. In addition to print design, I have worked on various presentations for the companies I have been employed at (i.e. powerpoint, slideshows, Prezi). I do some logo design, and enjoy creating branded materials that have a shared theme. My predominant tools are Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I believe a lot can also be done in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint for those who use more accessible softwares. I would be happy to prove samples of past design projects upon request.
