I am a Transfer student at UC Irvine, studying Computer Engineering. I have earned an A in just about every mathematics course available at the community college I transferred from, Santa Monica College (SMC), including Calculus 3 (Multi-variable Calculus), Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. I have experience as a Supplemental Instruction Leader and Math Tutor at SMC and UC Irvine. I have tutored for various programs, such as the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (ST... I've been tutoring students at Santa Monica College for over a year in subjects ranging from Algebra to Calculus. Out of all the subjects I tutor for, I am most comfortable and confident with Algebra due to its constant use in calculus. Algebra was the first subject I tutored for and my understanding of the subject has continued to improve throughout my time of tutoring at Santa Monica College. I have experience working with many different types of students, including students with learning disabilities.
I have been tutoring college students at Santa Monica College and UC Irvine for over two years. Since I most often tutor for Calculus, I recognize the importance of gaining a strong understanding of Algebra. I have also recognized what causes most students to become confused, which are the main things that I focus on when tutoring for Algebra concepts.
I have been tutoring for Calculus since 2013. Due to my experience, I have a strong understanding of what makes calculus difficult for students and have come up with strategies that simplify the core concepts into an easy to follow step-by-step process, without the confusion of intricate formulas and definitions. I also received an A in Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and Calculus 3 (Multivariable Calculus). My favorite topics to tutor for include differentiation involving chain rule, finding the limit of a function, the various strategies of integration, and proving series convergence/divergence. I provide students with a comprehensive and easy to remember guide on all integration strategies so that students can recognize when and why specific strategies are used. In addition, I have a similar guide that gives students the ability to immediately determine if a series will converge or diverge by simple observations and comparisons. This strategy also helps students understand which test is the most effective for proving convergence or divergence on a clear case-by-case basis.
I've been tutoring for college level precalculus and calculus since 2013. Due to my experience, I have a strong understanding of what makes precalculus difficult for students and have come up with strategies that simplify the core concepts into an easy to follow step-by-step process, without the confusion of intricate formulas and definitions.
I've been tutoring student at Santa Monica College for over a year in subjects ranging from Algebra to Calculus. Trigonometry is often used in Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Science course. Due to this, I have become very familiar and comfortable with trigonometry and it's applications.
I've been tutoring students at Santa Monica College for over a year in subjects ranging from Algebra to Calculus. I took Differential Equations (DE) last year, and I spent the entire semester tutoring other students in my class, because my professor wasn't very clear or organized to say the least. I am currently tutoring students at Santa Monica College for Differential Equations, in addition to other courses.
