World History

I offer 16 years of teaching at the college level and five years scoring academic achievement tests. This experience provides me with insight into student's needs. I hold a doctorate in Anthropology which encompasses history. Since my first day of teaching, I have created a (w) holistic pedagogy for students. The culture of education is significantly improved with the creation of supplemental materials to help build student confidence and comprehension which means better grades. I have written a textbook. I have tutored and/or mentored over the past ten years approximately 200 students.


Anthropology

I hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology, which includes archaeology. The title of my dissertation is WOMEN?S KNOWLEDGE: An examination of how traditional cultural practices survive in modern societies. This research enveloped all areas of anthropology. Also, I took upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in Sociology. During my doctorate work I read (independent study) in Philosophy. My academic research is published in Archives of Family Medicine. I have written articles that are in African Diaspora, ABC-CLIO publisher and e-textbook, published by Kendal-Hunt.


Archaeology

I hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology, which includes archaeology courses. The title of my dissertation is WOMEN?S KNOWLEDGE: An examination of how traditional cultural practices survive in modern societies. This research included all areas of anthropology; especially archaeology. My research involved archaeological work in Jamaica and the British Museum. I have taught archaeological classes off and on since 2000 to approximately 200-250 students at the undergraduate level and conducted private tutoring/ mentoring for nearly 50 graduate students over the past ten years. Also, I was an appointed Research Associate at the Field Museum, Chicago, Illinois for five years.


Sociology

As a student at the University of Illinois Chicago, I took upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in Sociology. From 2010 to 2012, I taught undergraduate- and graduate-level Sociology courses to approximately 200 students. In the capacity as tutor/ mentor, I was involved with nearly 30 students (both graduate and undergraduate students).


Social Studies

I have a Department of Education, State of Florida certificate to teach Social Sciences for grades 6-12.
