As part of the education I received to become a registered nurse, I was required to take college classes in microbiology, and general biology as well as anatomy, physiology, chemistry, pharmacology. In high school, I studied earth sciences. I have always had a passion for science. I actually began teaching science in 5th and 6th grade when I taught dissection of small creatures such as earthworms to other students as part of the science program at my school.
I have been a registered Nurse since 1985, I am experienced in multiple clinical areas in adult and pediatric nursing, experienced in multiple levels of care from med surg to ICU level of care, I was a preceptor for multiple new graduate nurses, and I wrote orientation courses for many nursing departments. I am certified in BLS, PALS, ACLS, STROKE.
