I took AP English when I was in high school and received a 4 on the AP test.
I was an elementary school aide for two years when I was in high school. One year was for a 1st grade classroom where I would take over teaching if the main teacher had to meet one-on-one with a parent. The following year was for a 4th grade classroom, it was more of grading and helping with papers but I was still part of the classroom for two hours each day. Finally I have been a summer school classroom aide for the last 4 years in a special needs class where the children have either Down's Syndrome or Autism. I rotate through groups teaching them math, motor skills, vocabulary, and ways to overcome their learning disabilities.
