I have a love of learning and a passion for teaching! I hold a B.S. in biology and have completed extensive coursework in chemistry and physics as well. I scored in the top 5% in the math section of the SAT and the GRE, and the top 10% in the verbal section of those tests. Of course, intelligence alone does not a good teacher make. I am a firm believer that any subject can be accessible and interesting if it is properly explained. I have found that the teachers who best facilitate learning... [more]

I took a variety of biology courses at Umass Amherst before graduating with my bachelor's in biology. I feel comfortable with the concepts in biochemistry, molecular bio, cellular bio, anatomy and physiology, neuroscience, and ecology. I have successfully helped students with this subject in the past.
I completed 4 distinct chemistry courses and their labs for my biology degree. I have a solid understanding of the concepts involved in the many areas of general chemistry. My algebra skills are also excellent, an important skill in gen Chem.
I got an A in high school precalculus and calculus. I'm able to break down seemingly complex concepts. I am a born problem solver and can teach a variety of problem solving strategies.
I teach high school biology. I got an A- in human physiology at the college level.
I have prepared students for the math SATs in the past and am very familiar with the type of questions on the test as well as the test format. This allows me to pass along problem solving and test taking strategies.
The GED covers arithmetic skills as well as algebra and geometry. These are all subjects I excelled at in high school and I feel very comfortable teaching the necessary problem solving methods.
I graduated with a bachelor's of science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The biology major requires 4 chemistry courses, which include Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. I passed these courses with a grade of a B- and a B+, respectively. I have an excellent understanding of concepts in organic chemistry, and can reason very well in 3 dimensions. I helped multiple peers master organic chemistry, and feel very comfortable explaining the topics within it.
