Help is what helps!

I am a certified teacher with a background in mental health services, having worked in both private and non profit sectors. I am an advocate for Education Reform having acquired skills and experience working with both higher (Gifted/High IQ) functioning and lower (Special Education) functioning students in grades k-8). I love teaching and learning. Being knowledgeable is one thing, being able to break down information in order to teach is quite another. I am skilled at being able to hone in o... [more]

I minored in English as an undergraduate student, have an extensive vocabulary and a skilled knack for being able to breaking down English language skills. I was employed as a coordinator for a literacy council after successfully preparing many non-English speaking adults to grasp the English Language in order to become U.S. naturalized citizens. I also have 120 credit hours of ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages), recently acquired to have become "ESOL endorsed" on my teaching certification.

I have completed 60 hours of ESOL coursework as a teacher. I have literacy council experience teaching and preparing adults for U.S. citizenship and naturalization. I have active FL certification in ESE.

SAT Writing

Elementary (K-6th)

I have certifications in K-5 Elementary Education, Middle School Integrated Curriculum 6-8, Gifted Education, ESOL and Exceptional Student Education K-12. I have 13 years of teaching experience and love children. I feel I have a particular knack for being able to break down information and scaffold learning to meet the needs of students that may have difficulty in this cognitive process.

Special Needs

I am a certified teacher and have had 13 years of experience working in both special education and advanced student education. I have always have a personal interest in word origins and diction. I have done private tutoring with young children, applying and weaning them off of accommodations in order to assist in their ability to commit the abstract laws of phonetics to memory. I also feel I have a particular knack in being able to hone in on individual student needs.

My qualifications for ADD/ADHD include an active FL teaching certification in ESE (Exceptional Student Education). ADD/ADHD is on the ESE spectrum. I was an ESE teacher at Pinellas Preparatory Academy for 12 years and have taken CEUs on differentiated curricula and techniques applied during that interim of working with many, many ADD/ADHD diagnosed students both one on one and in small pull out groups. I would be happy to submit my certification documentation as evidence and my certification in this field is on public record available for look-up, on the FLDOE website.
