I have had the opportunity to be a Teacher's assistant for the American Sign Language Program at the University of Connecticut for 2 years. I have also had the amazing opportunity to be able to become the Teacher's Assistant Coordinator for the same program. This lead me to becoming a Middle School Teacher of the Deaf in a total communication environment. I have been a Teacher's assistant at the University of Connecticut for the past 2 years. I was also promoted to the Teacher Assistant Coordinator for the same program. In order to be considered for either position, one must excel in all American Sign Language classes and Deaf Culture classes. I was able to not only excel in these classes but to be able to teach these classes to others as well.
