Roots & Traditional Violin, Mandolin & Guitar Lessons

I attended the New England Conservatory of Music's pilot Suzuki Program offered at Dana Hall School in Wellesley from 1966 until it ended in 1975. After that, I attended the Conservatory at Rivers in Weston until I graduated in 1980 with a certificate in performance on the violin. I was considered a "gifted" violinist from an early age, and my parents exposed me to just about every musical opportunity that was offered in my community. Ear Training

I have a BA in Music from Hampshire College I majored in violin at the Rivers Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of Music pilot program at Dana Hall School. I was principal violinist of the Weston High School Symphony Orchestra and principal violist of the Five College Symphony Orchestra. After college, I opened my studio and began offering private lessons for adults and teenagers. That was 1986. I have taught at various community music centers and out of my own studio.


Guitar

In addition to my other musical qualifications, I have played and taught guitar since the 1980s. I play with a bluegrass and old time band, and a traditional Irish band.
