I feel that I am qualified to tutor in phonics because have been teaching elementary children how to read for over 10 years. I believe that phonics is the foundation for reading. I have worked with students that didn't know how to read. Before the end of the school year, they reported to me that they were one of the top readers in their class. In addition, I teach English as a Second Language to adults. When learning another language, phonics, pronunciation and intonation are important to increasing fluency.
