I have been an online mentor for the past 2 years and have successfully mentored 6 underprivileged high school juniors through the year-long curriculum which consisted of study skills, resume writing, career development, graduation preparation, etc. I have also had several opportunities to tutor elementary, middle school and high school-aged students in math, reading, writing, science, etc.
My Bachelor's degree is in Public Health Promotion with a minor in Nutrition and I am starting a Master's program in the same field in September of this year. My main nutrition teaching experience comes from being a part of the of a vitamin B deficiency research project with Bhutanese refugees through the International Rescue Committee. I conducted nutritional intake surveys and educated the refugees on the dietary changes they could make to improve their vitamin B levels.
