I have tutored K-6th grade for over 20 years - mostly on a volunteer basis with literacy organizations and elementary schools. I have worked with students and adults on career development for over 20 years - both as a volunteer tutor with student organizations and schools - and as an adult mentor. Career development tutoring should be flexible, providing students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to make good decisions in their immediate future - such as college vs. technical school, and emphasize quality professional development throughout their lives. Students should be encouraged to start thinking about careers at an early stage, and pursue activities and information to develop skills and knowledge.
