American History

I have completed American History courses during my time in high school and college. I have passed the proficiency assessment to allow me the ability to tutor in this subject. I am an active student possibly minoring in History, and I take anywhere from one to three history courses per year.


Vocabulary

Having experience in English studies, I have always spent time inside and outside of the classroom writing and reading on a daily basis. Being an English Major with concentrations in both literature and creative writing, I expand my vocabulary through reading multiple works of literature, writing poetry and fiction daily, and I have completed an abundance of classroom hours, allowing me to develop a variety of vocabulary words.


Grammar

I am a current English Major with concentrations in literature and creative writing. Grammar and English subjects are areas two areas of experience. I am proficient at tutoring the subjects of Grammar, Punctuation, Writing, and Proofreading.


Geography

I successfully completed high school Geography and college Geography classes. I am available to teach all grades and students, from K-college, with experience from continuous completion of Geography classes.


English

Efficient in subjects of Reading, Literature, English, with passing scores on the tutor assessments for ACT Reading, SAT Reading, English, Literature, Grammar, Proofreading, and Vocabulary. I have scored 29's in both English and Reading on the ACT, I am a current English Major with concentrations in literature and creative writing. I am also an active and avid reader both inside and outside of the classroom. I plan to finish my English studies to obtain my degree, begin teaching, and begin writing professionally.


ESL/ESOL

I am experienced with teaching English studies, specifically all writing subjects, and actively write college level papers and composition with consistent above average grades. I have also been assessed and qualified to teach ESL/ESOL as well. My lesson rate isn't necessarily final - we can discuss a lower rate if you are apprehensive, and any special requests, lessons, etc. can be assessed and reviewed to make sure we agree upon a fair rate!


HTML

I have hands-on experience with coding, web design, and HTML. I was actively studying HTML at Destrehan High School throughout my entire four years attending, while designing, editing, coding, and maintaining the school?s website. I also created my own website and blog for my senior project (from scratch) and taught fellow classmates and staff about designing websites with an emphasis on HTML coding.


Psychology

Experience includes completed psychology courses in college, studying literature on psychologists and psychology, and qualification to tutor students in psychology with the completion and passing of the tutor psychology assessment.


Literature

I am a current English Major with concentrations in literature and creative writing. Literature has been a primary focus through my continued studies after high school. Proficient in literature comprehension, reading, and writing.


Proofreading

I am a current English Major with concentrations in literature and creative writing. I am also an active and avid reader both inside and outside of the classroom. I am proficient in writing, grammar, punctuation, and I have experience in tutoring students through essay writing, revising, editing, reading, and proofreading.


SAT Reading

I am an English Major, currently focusing on studying literature, creative writing, and language. I tutor students and classmates most often in the subjects of Test-Preparation, Study-Skills, ACT/SAT Tests (Pre-Testing included), and all English subjects (Reading, Writing, Comprehension, etc.) with an emphasis on ACT and SAT testing in these subjects. I have successfully tutored many students and helped them to prepare for the ACT and Sat Reading portions, and I have also completed both an ACT and SAT preparation course. My lessons with students preparing for the SAT Reading portion will involve students taking SAT Reading practice tests, identifying problem-areas, reviewing the material and questions covered in these problem areas, answering questions while guiding the student through a review, reteaching any necessary material that will be most beneficial in ensuring the student has a complete comprehension of that particular topic. I will also help the student to develop helpful strategies and practice applying the skills covered in our lessons, reassuring the student of their ability to overcome previous problem-areas with confidence and independence. Every category and skill tested in the Reading section of the SAT will be practiced, reviewed, retaught, and practiced again until the student?s SAT Reading goals are achieved.


TOEFL

I have tutoring experience in Study-Skills, Test Preparation, and English (Language, Literature, Writing, Comprehension, Reading, and Speaking). I am an avid reader, writer, and teacher of all things English, and I have successfully helped students and fellow classmates to better their English reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking skills. Whether a student needs help preparing for a Test of the English Language or simply desires to develop helpful skills to better their application and understanding of the English language, I will passionately tutor and tailor lessons specific to the needs and goals of each student.


PSAT

As a tutor, the subjects I most often tutor students in include Study-Skills, Test Preparation, ACT/SAT, and Pre-ACT/SAT Testing. I have tutored and mentored students in grades 8-12 in Test Preparation, specifically for tests like the ACT and SAT. I have had success in helping students develop the necessary study-skills and test-taking strategies, and I have also helped students to prepare for these types of tests, pre-tests, and exams. College-readiness is always a focus during my tutoring lessons with students preparing for these types of tests and subjects.


ACT Reading

I am an English Major with concentrations in literature and creative writing. I am a literary enthusiast as well as an avid reader and writer. In my years tutoring and mentoring, I have helped students and classmates most often with Test-Preparation, Study-Skills, and English subjects (Reading, Writing, Comprehension, etc.) with an emphasis on ACT and SAT testing. I have successfully tutored many students in ACT Reading and have completed an ACT preparation course. My lessons with students preparing for the ACT will involve taking practice tests in an environment that mimics an actual testing room on an ACT Test day, identifying problem-areas, reviewing the problem areas and answering questions with the student, reteaching, reviewing, and revisiting any material I believe will be most beneficial to ensuring that the student is successful, confident, and comfortable when reattempting problematic questions. Every category and skill tested in the Reading section of the ACT will be practiced, reviewed, retaught, and practiced again until the student?s ACT Reading goals are achieved with independence and confidence.


ACT Science

I have qualified to tutor ACT Science, having passed the tutor ACT Science assessment and certifying my ability to tutor in this subject.


Elementary Science

Apart from tutoring students in Study-Skills and Test-Preparation for tests, classwork, and comprehension of basic Sciences, I have tutored students specifically on Elementary Sciences, ACT/SAT Sciences, and College Sciences. With hands-on or online tutoring lessons tailored specific to each student?s needs, I always aim to ensure my students leave each tutoring lesson with the skills, confidence, and proper preparation to tackle all areas of Elementary Science independently.


Art Theory

I have completed Art courses in high school and college. My primary focus has been in Art History. Art Theory has been studied in both high school and college.


Macroeconomics

I am a former student of the Ludwig Von Mises Institute for Austrian Economics, and I have passed the tutor assessment on economics to qualify me to tutor students in economics.


Microeconomics

I have hands-on experiencing working in the field as a surveyor as well as working with and in ArcGIS programs. I have contributed to Louisiana?s GIS maps, specifically in St. Charles Parish along the Mississippi River. My experience studying GIS for 2+ years ranged from hands-on experience in an office setting, a classroom setting, and in the field, as well as being mentored by college graduates with degrees related to GIS working professionally in Louisiana as Geographical Information System surveyors.
