I am qualified to teach study skills for a couple of reasons. 1) I underwent more than 40 hours of training at the Tufts University Academic Resource Center and was approved to become a Time Management and Study Strategies Consultant. In the training, we focused on learning styles, organization of thought, methods of note-taking, stress management, and test-taking strategies. 2) I consulted with dozens of undergraduate and graduate students as a Time Management and Study Strategies Consultant for the Tufts University Academic Resource Center between August 2012 and April 2014. I worked with students one-on-one to develop skills, allowing students to pass courses, finish doctoral dissertations, and build confidence.
I have five years of private tutoring experience, working with students in 6th-12th grades. In addition, I have two years' experience working with college students as a time management and study strategies consultant at Tufts University. I have worked with children of all ages as a counselor at Sunrock Farm (Wilder, KY) and have taught an introductory biology laboratory course at the University of Dayton. I'd be happy to work with your homeschool student, or a group.
