In Chicago, there is an actual major called Elementary Education, of which I completed and was more rigorous than the 5th year needed in California to be certified to teach. Nonetheless, I completed my fifth year in California walking away with a clear CLAD credentialed and deemed highly qualified by the NCLB act. I have taught for 18 years at the 1st-3rd grade level and subbed in the other grade levels. I have taught small groups in my classroom and I have tutored in afterschool/Saturday school programs offered through my school.

I am well versed in the curriculum for K-6th grade. I am also familiar with using the internet to expand learning opportunities. As an 18-year veteran of elementary education, and a tutor, I am qualified to home school as well.
