Vocabulary

Vocabulary lessons are an excellent way to improve your communication skills quickly. Learning about how the words you know change is a powerful tool. Understanding word parts, and other English communication patterns, I make new vocabulary easy to learn and use!

Grammar

Grammar instruction does not have to be intimidating! Building understanding about the smaller pieces of English based on the students' knowledge and experience with communicating, creates a safe environment for learning and making mistakes.

English

The basics we learn in elementary school can be trusted to shape and organize our work as adult writers. My job as your tutor is to remind you of what you know and teach you what you don't know. The end result is a product you can be proud of.

ESL/ESOL

My masters degree is in TESOL. I have taught as part of a team of adult educators in community colleges, and as the head of a vocational program with online and in-person, group and individual classes. I love teaching because learning is a process, and I get to watch it happen right in front of me.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have worked with people from 5 to 60 years of age with autism in the classroom, in a group residential facility and one-on-one in their homes. I have experience implementing educational, social, and employment skill development curriculum targeted by IEPs in both California and Missouri.

Sociology

My associates and bachelors degrees are in Sociology. It is compelling, salient, and one of my favorite subjects. Developing an understanding of this science will help the student comprehend and navigate society on a larger scale.

Homeschool

I have tutored and taught grade-schoolers and adults since 2006. My degree and teaching experience includes both vocational, and common core curriculum. I am also able to adhere to state requirements for records keeping.
