When our school received a grant through the ACE program to help our students prepare for the spring administration of the the STAAR test, I was nominated by department chairs and administration to design and deliver lessons using project based learning techniques to offer our students an interactive approach to key concepts. Recently I have attended workshops/trainings such as Meaningful Writing Instruction in an Age of Testing, and a week long seminar called TNT Reading: An interactive process that develops reading comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. I have been teaching high school English for 7 years. This summer I have been invited by the College Board to be a reader for the AP Language & Composition Exam.
