I currently work at a high school as a Special Ed Parapro in Chemistry and Earth Science classrooms. I ensure that all accommodations are met as specified and instruct via one on one or through small group settings. In addition, I recently obtained a perfect score on the ETS Praxis Parapro Exam.
Hard of Hearing
As a mother of a child with hearing loss, I had no choice but to learn how to integrate educational strategies to optimize learning. I was trained and assisted in many programs such as Early On Infancy, PPI (Pre-Primary Impaired), ASL (basic level), etc. We learned to adapt lessons and homework to accommodate his hearing loss that relied heavily on visual, kinesthetic, logical teaching approaches/methodologies. In addition to these things, I've researched endlessly. Between my experience and educational background, I feel that I could confidently assist any student with hearing loss.
