At my current employer, I teach elementary general music through grades 4-6. We cover a wide range of musical skills including beginner instrumental performance, music theory, history, composition, and some vocal performance as well. 70% of my general music students go on to choose an band or choir to further their music interests.
My undergrad major was music performance on the trombone. I have played two recitals of my own for school as well as over 250 gigs since I have started in 5th grade. I have created a curriculum for my students taking trombone lessons that I follow.
