I earned a BA with minor in theatre, an MFA in Directing, and Ph.D. with emphases on Greek and Shakespearean tragedy. I have also directed or performed in dozens of plays, designed and managed performing arts centers, presented performing arts, and served on a theatre grant panel for a state arts council. I have won awards in acting, directing, and scene design in three states.

I have taught college level speech, coached a speech team, and taught oral communication. Additionally, my training and experience in theatre have prepared me to coach the human voice. A lifetime of public speaking to large audiences has also taught me a great deal about speech.
