Algebra 1

I believe that from everyday life decision making to advanced training in science, technology and finance, the ability to understand and apply Algebra is such an invaluable and necessary tool for a successful journey in a life, rich with great opportunities and discoveries. I've been teaching High School and College Algebra, both online and in person for the last 10 years. I believe in working with students to help them develop a deep understanding of the fundamentals of algebra, as well as useful strategies to solve problems and study techniques to excel in their testing. My goal is to make algebra fun, not boring, and pleasant, not intimidating. I really hope to help you with your algebra goals!

Algebra 2

On to Algebra II, the next step after Algebra I. In this class you will tackle more complex (and interesting) mathematical relationships and learn new techniques such as complex numbers, exponential growth and decay and so much more. This class is so important, as is gives you a strong grounding to help you advance to higher level Mathematics, science, engineering, finance even to pre-med. As for my qualification, I've been teaching High School and College Algebra, both online and in person for the last 10 years. I have a Bachelors in both Math and Physics, and a PhD in Physics. I believe in working with students to help them develop a deep understanding of the fundamentals of algebra, as well as useful strategies to solve problems and study techniques to excel in their testing. I focus on problem solving using real world examples, to show how relevant and useful Algebra can be. My goal is to make algebra fun, not boring, and pleasant, not intimidating. I really hope to help you with your algebra goals!

Calculus

Calculus in one of my favorite subjects to tutor. As a Physicist, and even as a software engineer, I have had a long acquaintance with both analytical and numerical methods in Calculus, and in teaching and explaining them to others. I find that while people are often intimidated when they are first exposed to the subject, given the right attention and individual coaching, they can easily master the subject. In addition to helping you master the subject, I will also introduce you to so many additional resources, available free online, to help you along your Calculus journey. While it may seem sometimes that Calculus is just one great big mixed up jumble of finicky techniques and obscure rules and ideas. I believe the subject can become completely intuitive and understandable with the right teaching methods. Let me help you untangle that mess and master this subject. Calculus is such an important subject, both to your education and your future. Don't let your GPA or future suffer!

Geometry

Teaching geometry requires a different touch, than most other Math Classes. Geometry is unique among the early math classes, as it relies mainly on the ability to reason spatially, and not on the ability to manipulate symbols on a page. Yet, geometry is probably one of the most important courses you will ever take, as many Mathematicians say, "All math IS Geometry." With a PhD in Physics, and an interest in many pure maths, such as differential geometry, abstract algebra, discrete math, computer algorithms, and number theory, I spend allot of time revisiting the Concepts I learned in Geometry. Let me help you gain and understanding and an appreciation for this incredible subject.

Physics

High-school Physics, AP Physics, College and Graduate level Physics? I have tutored students extensively in all of these areas. My Doctorate is in Physics, and Physics is truly my first love. Students are all too often turned off by their early experience, in introductory classes, largely due to dry inconsistent teaching or incomprehensible examples. I would love the opportunity to change your mind, and share with you the beauty of this subject. Let me help you to shine in this incredible and exciting subject.

Prealgebra

Precalculus

Getting ready for Calculus is an exciting time! Precalculus is partly a review of algebra, geometry and trigonometry along with a range of new topics. Precalculus is an excellent time to solidify the foundation necessary, to enable you to solve many real-world problems, and make Calculus easy. As for my qualification, I've been teaching High School and College Mathematics, both online and in person for the last 10 years. I have a Bachelors in both Math and Physics, and a PhD in Physics. I believe in working with students to help them develop a deep understanding of the fundamentals, as well as teach them useful strategies to solve problems and study techniques to excel in their testing. I focus on problem solving using real world examples, to show how relevant and useful These problems solving techniques can be. My goal is to make math fun, not boring, and pleasant, not intimidating. Whether you are looking to go on to Calculus, or just get through the Precalc material, I am here to help you succeed and build the confidence you need to shine!

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is absolutely one of the most useful subjects, you will ever take in high school. Triangles and trig function are literally everywhere, from Calculus to Physics, to Computer Science, to Engineering they are even necessary in construction, and building yourself a deck, in your own home. You simply cannot escape them. With a PhD in Physics, and an interest in many pure maths, such as differential geometry, abstract algebra, discrete math, computer algorithms, and number theory, I spend allot of time revisiting the Concepts I learned in Trigonometry. Let me help you gain and understanding and an appreciation, for this essential subject.

Java

Looking for some mentoring from someone who has actually been down in the trenches, coding? Looking for some advice from an industry software developer? Want to know what really works out in the real world? Looking to write code that will actually pass a code review? or just how to survive that IT interview? I would be glad to help. I specialize in Java, J2EE, C++, Angular, Javascript, OpenGL and Vulkan. With over 15 years of Industry experience as a developer, lead developer, team lead and software architect, I have seen it all. I have hired and fired developers, built teams from the ground up, mentored team members, evaluated their work and help guide them to be better programmers. I have countless successful full lifecycle development projects under my belt. I have worked with Product Management and stakeholders to develop project requirements schedules. I am happy to share my knowledge and experience with you.

HTML

I've been using HTML since around 1996. I have used it in pretty much every single web project, whether using CSS to format it for front end design, moving it around the page with jQuery and JavaScript, or outputting it with Java from the back end. I'm comfortable with DreamWeaver, and I can teach the common "five page site" at the beginner level, form submission, advanced layout/design techniques, responsive design with media queries, and input validation.

C++

I have been working with C++ for over 25 years. I have seen it change from "C with Classes," to the language we have today. I have kept abreast with coding best practices, and modern advise on auto, pointer, smart pointer, reference and gvalue, lvalue, rvalue, xvalue and prvalue and move semantics. I have a great deal of experience with the STL, and proper use of templates. Looking for some mentoring from someone who has actually been down in the trenches, coding?
