I completed my education from elementary school to high school in Indonesia and at Indonesian school with Indonesian as the main language and one of the main subjects tested nationally to determine our graduation. I graduated high school with a valedictorian. When I studied at UC Berkeley, I still studied and took Indonesian courses (Malay/Indo 100A and 100B) and passed the classes with As. I am currently pursuing my PhD at Cornell where it has the best Indonesian program in the US. I am active with the Indonesian's community, including the Indonesian's professors here to keep honing my Indonesian's writing and literature. I especially enjoy reading and discussing about some of Pramoedya Ananta Toer's writing.
