Biology

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell & Molecular Biology. I also have two years of undergraduate research experience in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology and would be able to bring this experience to discussions of real-world applications. Spanish

I really love Spanish and have taken 5 years of middle school/high school Spanish. I earned a 5 on the AP Spanish Language & Composition exam. During college, I joined an organization that held weekly meetings to practice their Spanish language skills. I still use Spanish in my current medical education to communicate with patients and their families.

Writing

I love reading and have a very eclectic reading taste, from Classics like Homer, to modern classics like Jane Austen, to young adult fiction Suzanne Collins, to scientific primary literature in the field of biology. I achieved a 5 on AP English Language and Composition and a 4 on AP English Literature and Composition. In college, I minored in Classical mythology and literature and really discovered a passion for Classics. I have been an undergraduate teaching assistant for a introductory classics course, where I taught workshops on close-reading, created handouts and presentations for essay writing and literary analysis, and provided support to students outside of class. I have also been an English-Language Arts classroom tutor for 70 7th and 8th graders; in addition to providing daily classroom and small group tutoring, I prepared lessons and materials such as reading excerpts and contributed ideas to departmental planning meetings.
