My California teaching credential includes a focus in life science. Although I'm qualified to teach all branches of science at the primary and secondary level, that means that I am particularly qualified and experienced with life sciences. I taught seventh grade science with the old standards, under which seventh grade was exclusively dedicated to life science, for six years. In addition to working with my colleagues to update our districts' curricula to the Next Generation Science Standards, which integrate all life, physical, and earth sciences in all middle school grades, I have also taught Freshmen Biology. I am prepared to tutor elementary, middle, and high school students in all aspects of life science.
As a secondary science teacher with a valid California teaching credential, I am qualified to teach all branches of science at the elementary, middle, and high school level. My experience as a sixth and eighth grade teacher in particular involved the physical sciences, including matter and energy, light and sound, and other physics concepts.
I have worked in secondary science education for almost ten years. I am familiar with the Next Generation Science Standards, part of Common Core. As an experienced sixth, seventh, and eighth grade teacher, I am qualified to help your elementary student prepare to enter the exciting and rigorous world of middle school science.
