My fascination with history is perhaps pre-natal. My father was a history major and I grew up devouring books on the history of the U.S. and the world. Over a long academic career that includes five higher degrees, I explored U.S. and world history as an expression of art history, religious history, educational history, and the history of U.S.-Asian relations. Outside of academics, my reading for entertainment persistently includes explorations into the history of America?s wars, presidents and social movements. I have extensive training in--and a rich passion for--U.S. history in its many forms.
I am a skilled and careful writing instructor who understands the particular challenges of young writers: how to stick to a single theme, how to compose sentences with proper rhythm and interesting vocabulary, and how to integrate compelling and relevant detail. I have taught high school and college English, written for three master's degrees, and published over 50 articles in a 30-year writing career.
I have 30 years of overall teaching experience and 20 years of published writing experience. I have three Masters Degrees and 10 years experience teaching college and high school.
I have studied and taught world history through the lens of various disciplines to diverse audiences for over 20 years. I am passionate about World History and continue to refine my understanding of it's key themes and developments.
