Certified teacher, k-12 Ten years of teaching elementary curriculum
Currently, I work in an elementary school with credentials to teach students from k-12. I have a level two clear credential and have completed portfolios for common core at the elementary level and for the Orton-Gilligham Approach. I have knowledge of mainstreaming students into the general education setting and providing support to those who are struggling to meet the rigorous, fast paced demands of Common Core BOTH in language arts and math.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
I am authorized by the state of California to teach students with autism. As a requirement to gain authorization, I completed classes and submitted appropriate coursework. I have knowledge of and understand the specific needs that should be tailored to individuals with Autism.
I am certified by the state of California as a teacher of students with visual impairments. As a requirement to gain certification to teach VI K-12, I have passed Braille proficiency tests. For the past ten years, I have taught the Braille code to students who are blind and visually impaired.
