Central to Chemistry is the interplay between micro and macroscopic analysis of matter. I have assisted students with both General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for science Majors. Also, I have assisted students with OAT for optometry school entrance tests, DAT for Dental School and MCAT for medical school.

Microsoft Excel

I have previously provided Project Management support at the professional level in Los Angeles and beyond. Also I have worked with graduate students using Excel spreadsheets for statistics; at USC we have used excel to produce graphs, tables and chart in addition to applying appropriate formulas to determine regression relationships and confirm inferential outcomes on data.

Geometry

In Spring (2011), I had a Beverly Hills High student perform a near impossible feat: succeeding in Geometry beyond expectation. He had 3-4 weeks left to his finals in Geometry and his previous scores were lower than passing scores, with at least 3 quizzes left and 2 tests before the final. He developed a review plan where he studied small pieces of information (including the difficult ones) over short periods (30-45min) spaced out during the day and week. The outcome was desirable he moved 4 letter grades up in 4 weeks and managed the previous elusive A! score in his second to last test. This is not beyond anyone yearning to succeed.I have also assisted Pali High, Culver City High and Milken Community High students succeed in geometry in preparation for algebra.

I have assisted graduate students in physics mechanics, electromagnetics and optics for GRE and consistently worked with UCLA students in physics 6A,6B,6C applying elements of calculus to solve equations of motion,energy,electricity and waves.In addition I have worked with Dental School bound Biology and Chemistry majors complete Calculus based physics 37,38 and 39.

The GRE Math Section has presented the greatest challenge to graduate students allowing me to develop a structured practice schedule that involves revisiting the basics of college algebra and elements of calculus to rebuild confidence in problem solving. In the verbal sections also We have worked on comprehension strategies that center on analytical reading that leads to comprehension of passages.

We have worked with graduate students including UCI (University of California Irvine). Biology graduate majors (2013/2014) excel in their MCAT for medical school, with a focus on physics content and verbal reasoning content. On physics we covered mechanics such as work/energy and electricity and magnetism such as electrostatics. We practiced actual problems using diagrams to improve efficiency in solving particularly force diagrams.

AutoCAD

I have strong backgrounds in Architecture and architectural design and have completed coursework on Autocad at LAIAD and Cal Poly Pomona that included extensive training in use and application of Autocad to create technical drawings and complete studio projects. We created Autocad based construction documents meeting industry standards.

Adobe InDesign

With a strong background in architecture and graphic design, I have assisted thesis bound students craft organized and creative portfolios using Adobe InDesign to build thematic outcomes. I have worked with students and professionals on Adobe InDesign using template organization tools and font-editing tools to create compelling presentation boards.

Biostatistics

I have in the past assisted a Naval Officer complete her Biostatistics Courses for her MPH (Walden University) that involved hypothesis testing and descriptive statistics for the impacts of various diseases such as bacterial tuberculosis. Also this Fall (2011) I assisted through WyzAnt a PhD Nursing Student(College Instructor) complete portions of her dissertations for Biostatistics Data analysis that involved setting up variables for SPSS and responding to needs assessment questions with qualitative variables for her dissertations on elder care.

Econometrics

In Micro and Macro-economics I have worked with undergraduate and graduate students including UCLA students in making them understand relationships between households,businesses and governments. In order to solidify these connections, we have employed mathematical and statistical tools such as graphs giving students broad discretion in Econometrics to interpret economic trends that can benefit households, businesses and governments.

ISEE

I have assisted high school students both one on one and live online prepare for their ISEE. Some of the students have gained entrance into Marlborough school, Marymount school and others; Most importantly I have prepared them with emphasis in the Quantitative Reasoning and Mathematics Achievement sections. In the quantitative reasoning we have strengthened the concepts of probability and statistics, algebra and geometry. Through a heavy dose of word problems we have established foundations for success enabling students transform these strategies into other sections of the test including verbal reasoning. The ISEE is a first step to independent learning and a rich college experience.

Linear Algebra

In Understanding Linear Algebra I have worked extensively with USC, UCI , UCLA and LMU Engineering, Computer Science and Math students develop simple and rigorous methods of formal proofs as applied in matrix and vector space transformations. In Math 245 Linear Algebra, for instance, LMU Engineering students have confirmed the connection between real life problems in Engineering and Business and how these can be described and analyzed through formulation of vectors and Matrices; I have seen students light up as we make transitions from using typical Gauss-Jordan Elimination in finding solutions to viewing multi-dimensional matrices as linear transformations. At the advanced level we have engaged Eigen vectors and Eigen values qualitatively seeing how these explain the future behavior of dynamical systems. It is here that students have started to see the subtle connections between differential equations and linear algebra with linear algebra emerging as a window through which we can view both real and abstract transformations in space.

Architecture

I have previously worked on internships in at least 2 Architecture Firms in Los Angeles (TFA and AJLA) on local and international projects that included model building for an extensive urban development mixed used international project and an Eye glass store in Calabassas. In addition to handdrafting and model building for restaurant projects in palm springs.I recently assisted a UCLA Architecture student through WyzAnt with her studio work that involved case studies for a Japanese garden inspired library in Huntington Park.

STATA

Data in its raw state is not useful whether in academics or in industry. Stata is an ideal statistical software that I have used to assist Phd students and business owners to make sense of their data; It is easy to use and learn. We have worked with Phd students including Phd in Business and Phd in Education to clean-up and process data with Stata. This has allowed us to make use of analysis tools such as ANOVA and Regression to answer real and hypothetical questions involving studies based on collected samples.

Finite Math

I have previously assisted college students including Zach and Jason (through Wyzant) succeed in their Finite Math courses; MATH 21 using Finite Mathematics by Howard L. Rolf, 7th Edition. We extensively covered topics primarily related to algebra and pre-calc including Functions and Lines; Linear Systems; Linear Programming; Mathematics of Finance; Set and Counting;Game Theory;and Logic.

Calculus

We have worked with USC students helping them excel in their Calculus courses including Math 118 Calculus for business Majors.In addition I have assisted some Pacific Palisades High students and Beverly Hills high students succeed in AP Calculus and some Engineering students(LMU,Cal State) on their differential and Integral Calculus courses including homeworks,test prep,quizzes,study skills,anxiety reduction and Finals prep.

Precalculus

The introduction of Pre-Calculus was preceded by complaints from students that their transition into Calculus especially after completing trigonometry was not smooth.I have worked with SMC, CSUN, LMU and several High school students to capture the purpose of pre-calculus and develop strong strategies for problem solving that emphasize algebraic and graphical interpretations of solutions to equations. Also we have employed analytical steps that create structured templates which when students follow simplify their problem solving requirements in pre-calculus.

Trigonometry

I have worked with students to discover the strength of Trigonometry. We have targeted the trigonometric ratios of sine, cosine and tangent together with their periodic graphs in preparation for Calculus. I have helped undergraduate Engineering and business students including Florida Technical University and CAL POLY SLO to show them how success in trigonometry simplifies their math experience particularly in Calculus and beyond.

Differential Equations

Differential Equations goes beyond regular differential and Integral Calculus.We have still exploited the strength of Calculus with some LMU and CSUN Engineering students particularly Mechanical Engineering students to explore and explain differential equations. This has allowed us to confirm the relationships between a function and its derivatives proving that mechanical objects such as mechanical plumbing in construction projects can be modeled using differential equations.

SPSS

This past year I assisted a UCLA Phd student in Neurology with her Statistics courses focusing on data interpretation under multivariate ANOVA for her dissertations study involving Incontinence in seniors. This covered data input and processing through SPSS;and have assisted Graduate students including MBA(USC),MPH(Walden University),MPA,Phd in Nursing,Phd in Industrial Organization,Phd in Education(Pepperdine University) and Phd in Psychology(Santa Barbara Graduate Institute) with their SPSS for data analysis and dissertation writing through WYZANT.
